- 2.25 Petrol
- MOT's 2003-2017, Good History
SOLD
Originally sold through the Henlys Coventry dealership, this delightful Land Rover Series 3 88" Station Wagon was first registered September 1982 and is finished in what we feel is one of the nicest colour combinations of Marine Blue with contrasting ivory wheels.
A review of recent history, 2010 onwards shows that the Land Rover has been really well cared for, with much recent expenditure including exhaust system, replacement of various suspension components and a new clutch and with MOT's from 2003-2017, current MOT valid until September 2017, we feel it's quite possible that the 90k miles indicated is genuine and that she has only traveled circa 15k miles in the last 14 years and enjoyed being in the care of the same owner from 2009-2017.
The condition of the bodywork would suggest that this Series 3 has been subject to some restoration in the past, her marine blue paintwork is in very good condition, there is the odd small depression, but with good panel gaps and a nice shine to the paint, she is one of the nicest examples we've seen. The underside has been professionally treated and I would say it's been many years since this example has seen any off-road duty.
She still retains her original 2.25 petrol engine, which is an excellent runner and starts on the button without fail. The engine still has plenty of torque, pulling sweetly in each gear and although no motorway cruiser, this Land Rover never fails to put a smile on your face.
The Land Rover still retains its original black seats, 3 up front, which considering it's age are in good usable condition. There are also bench seats in the back and so the Land Rover has seating for 7 people, her current owner wisely also fitted additional lap belts. When the rear bench seats are folded up, the Landy offers additional carrying capacity and seeing that the tub has hardly any dents, it would suggest that the Land Rover has only seen light use over the years. All the interior instrumentation works as it should, and although 'old' in design we simply love the quaint switch gear, natty front screen vents and the sliding side windows.
With a really good history folder from over the last 20 years, MOTs supporting relatively little mileage, good mechanics and nicely restored bodywork, this lovely Series 3 Land Rover is looking for her next loving owner and will provide many more years of enjoyment.
