Introduced in 1984, the Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 was the last incarnation of the 'pure' 911 and came as a replacement of the SC model which had been manufactured between '78-'83. With its re-designed inlet and exhaust system, an increase in engine capacity to 3.2 litres, along with service-free Digital Engine Management (DME) ignition system and Bosch L-Jetronic fuel injection the car produced 231bhp (European market) and as such this saw a significant increase in engine performance whist also having a reduction in fuel consumption. With it's lack of driver aids, ABS, power steering or even 4 wheel-drive, it is felt the Carrera 3.2 genuinely offers one of the most authentic 911 driving experiences with 0-60mph time of under 6 seconds and top speed limited to 152mph.
For the first few years of production the Carrera 3.2 continued to use the type 915 gear box found in the SC and earlier model, however in Model Year '87 (MY 87 cars built 1 August 1986 to 31 July 1987) the 911 received the all new Getrag G50 with hydraulic clutch and as such coupe 911's built from 87-89 are felt to be the most desirable examples to own. During its 5 years of production the Carrera 3.2 was offered in Coupe, Targa and Cabriolet form and as is the norm for Porsche, cars could be specified with a number of options alloying for the standard 'narrow' body Carrera 3.2, Carrera Sport (revised suspension and front / rear spoilers) or even the 'Turbo-look' (Option M491) offering the 930's wide-body plus uprated brakes, suspension, Limited Slip Differential and larger tea-tray rear spoiler. The 911 Carrerra 3.2 saw relatively few changes during its production, Porsche offered commerative models during MY88 and MY89, the rakish Speedster and stripped out Club Sport but by Sept '89, with the new 964 already in production the Carrera 3.2 was finally phased out.
Delivered to its first owner through the Gordon Ramsey Ltd (OPC) on the 1st September 1987, this stunning MY88 911 Carrera 3.2 Sport is finished in Guards Red and features the desirable G50 gearbox and comes with the following options as confirmed by the accompanying Porsche Cars GB Ltd letter:

A matching numbers and meticulously maintained example she has been owned by the same keeper for the last 22yrs and as such has MOTs back to 1995 (having covered only 21k miles since and now showing a recorded 92k miles), service records detailed within the dealer book pack, indicate 10 OPC service stamps, bills for £000's and detailed records showing every oil change, nut/bolt change even down to valve clearance adjustments, we feel you'd struggle to find another example with such a well documented service record.
This attention to details continues when visually inspecting the car. The Guard Red paint, panel gaps, rubbers around the car, 16" Fuchs alloys (fitted with the correct Continental N1 tyres), the front and rear spoilers are all in excellent condition and this is testament not only to the build quality of a classic Porsche but also down to the fact that this 911 Carrera 3.2 Sport is a cossetted example. On opening the door and stepping inside the driver, and any lucky passenger, are meet with an interior akin to that of a 'new car', remarkable for a car built in 1987. The interior is in first class order, with all switch gear looking as good as the day it left the production line, the seats (full electric adjustment) remain firm, but with wonderfully supply leather and its not long before the driver has found the perfect driving position and ready to start the glorious 3.2 litre flat six engine.
With the immobiliser deactivated the engine starts instantly and being an MY88 example she comes with the G50 5 speed gearbox, which is an absolute delight and one drive of this 911 will have you wishing you had your passport with you so that you could take in an Intercontinental journey, she really is an exceptional car to drive, with smooth power delivery, great brakes wonderful steering.
The respected Porsche historian and author Peter Morgan is quoted as say the Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2, "will do what ever you want every day and all day, but reveals its thoroughbred performance in an instant" and our stunning Carrera 3.2 Sport model is testament to that, she's an absolute gem.
