Named after the reptile rather than the exotic holiday location, the Porsche Cayman was first unveiled to the public at the 2005 Frankfurt Motorshow and shared the same mid-engined platform and a number of front end body parts and mechanical components as the 987 Boxster. Unlike the Boxster, the rear body section of the 987c (Porsche's internal project number) is made entirely of stainless steel and being a coupe, features a hatchback to allow access for a well sized luggage compartment and sound-proofed cover, allowing access to the engine.
Supplied new via the Porsche Centre Mid-Sussex and registered in January 2007, this beautifully presented Cayman 3.4S (987c) is finished in the quintessentially Porsche Guards Red with grey leather interior and features the following specification:
- 3.4S (295bhp VarioCam) Engine with 6 speed gearbox.
- 18” Alloys finished in gloss black (these have been fully stripped, dipped and powder-coated) and fitted with Michelin Pilot sport tires.
- Grey leather interior with metallic grey shell-back seats.
- Electric & heated door mirrors.
- Electric heated seats.
- Front electric windows.
- Rear park assist.
- Wheel caps with Porsche crest.
- Porsche CDR 24 CD / Radio.
- Air Conditioning with climate control
- Trip computer.
- Multiple airbags.
- Remote central locking.
- Headlamp cleaning system.
- Active rear spoiler.

Being a 3.4S model, this Cayman offers stunning sportscar performance (sub 6 seconds 0-60mph and almost 170mph top speed), figures that set to challenge the all conquering 911 and with a similar flat 6 engine, the Cayman offers a drive that's similar to boot. In-fact, Porsche found that when testing the new car, the 3.4S was only marginally slower around the mighty Nürburgring and whilst we're not suggesting that we've driven our Guards Red example like this, there's no doubting the Cayman's motoring performance.
With 68,000 miles (MOT until May 2018) she has a great service history with Porsche main dealer stamps at 17k, 30k and then Porsche Independent at 44k, 49k, 55k and 68k (Sept '17 - Zentrum Porsche, Nottingham including a Major Service, plugs and comprehensive check and importantly clean bill of health for known bore-score issues), she has also had brake fluid changes and condition inspections carried out at the same time. With a great level of specification this Cayman 3.4S represents fantastic value and comes with previous MOTs, documented history and receipts from Porsche, clear HPI file and full Porsche dealer pack.
