How to Buy

Whether you're visiting us at our showroom or buying your next classic car online, we've made the whole process as straight forward and enjoyable as possible. You'll find all the information you need below and we look forward to hearing from you.

Making an online / remote purchase.

A lot of our customers (private and professional dealers) buy our cars remotely based on the extensive details we offer in each description, along with the photo gallery and videos offered. The procedure to buy is easy:

  1. Take your time to look at the cars on our website. Each advertised car has at least 20 photos, including a clear description and information about the condition and history of the car. If you're buying remotely and you have any questions at all then please contact us, we're happy to offer further information where needed, discuss any Part Exchange offering and can speak both English and German.
  2. When you have decided to buy a car, please send an e-mail to enquiries@absolute-classic-cars.co.uk with your confirmation, mentioning your full name, address and telephone number. Please also mention if you want us to arrange transport or if you will pick up the car yourself. After we receive your confirmation, we'll give you a call to confirm the purchase and we will then send you a sales invoice along with a copy of our Terms & Conditions, note Section 21. You will find all the necessary bank account information on the invoice. In addition and with our association of one of the UK's leading loan providers we're also able to offer finance on our entire portfolio. For more information ask our sales team.
  3. After receipt of your payment on our bank account we will send you a payment confirmation e-mail. International payments within Europe usually takes about 3 business days. Before we arrange transport / delivery we will perform a final inspection /  check on your chosen car, with this including a road-test, new MOT (even on export vehicles), plus carrying out any pre-arranged works / servicing etc. After this final check your car will be ready for delivery / inspection and we will contact you to confirm and discuss settling the balance of your account. In case you have chosen to pick up the car yourself, you may choose to let us store the car in our warehouse for one month at no cost.
  4. The amount of time it takes to transport your car depends on factors such as the length of journey and the time of the year (transport company / shipping restrictions). More than 90% of our UK sales are delivered within one week of the cars final preparation and this is usually done in person by the Absolute Classic Car team using our fully enclosed trailer. Upon delivery we will offer a full hand-over and at this point we will also transfer the vehicle into your name and hand over the history file. Should we need to use our 'third party' delivery company, please rest-assured that they are fully vetted by us so you're classic will be treated with utmost respect, the official documents of the car will be handed over to you personally by the driver at the delivery of the car. The driver will call you a few hours prior to arrival.

Visiting our showroom.

We know that a large number of customers like to see their future classic in person and we're always delighted to welcome clients to our showroom, here's all you need to know:

  1. Take your time to look at the cars on our website. Each advertised car has at least 20 photos, including a clear description and information about the condition and history of the car. If you'd like to come and view a car in person, please give us a call to make the necessary arrangements. Customers come to us from far and wide and we're ideally located for both road, rail, ferry and airport links and we'll do all we can to help with your route planning.
  2. Once you arrive at our showroom you'll be meet with a warm welcome, you'll have ample time to inspect the car you're interested in, review the history file and we'll be happy for you to take an accompanied test drive so that you can get a real feel for the car.
  3. Upon our return and having had a bit of time to contemplate, we'll be happy to discuss your purchase, plus carrying out any requested works / servicing etc a possible part exchange (where required) and with our association of one of the UK's leading loan providers we're also able to offer finance on our entire portfolio. For more information ask our sales team.
  4. Once a sale is agreed, we'll ask for a deposit to secure the car, this can be paid by card (all major debit / credit cards accepted), bank transfer or cash / cheque and you'll receive a purchase invoice and copy of our Terms and Conditions.
  5. Before we arrange transport / delivery we will perform a final inspection /  check on your chosen car, with this including a road-test, new MOT (even on export vehicles), plus carrying out any pre-arranged works / servicing etc. After this final check your car will be ready for delivery / inspection and we will contact you to confirm and discuss settling the balance of your account. In case you have chosen to pick up the car yourself, you may choose to let us store the car in our warehouse for one month at no cost.

Our Guarantee to you.

Due to the age of our cars, we're not able to extend the original manufactures warranty. That said we do take a great deal of pride in our cars, going the extra mile to ensure that they're presented to you in the best possible condition and free from any know faults at the time of delivery. Our cars are individually inspected, at which point we will carry out any remedial works and copy of all invoices for parts / labour costs will be included in the history file. Should a car require servicing (either based on mileage / time) we will at minimum carry out an oil / filter service, using OE / OEM parts and this too will be noted in the history file.

Prior to delivery all our cars undergo an extensive pre-delivery test drive (allowing the car to reach normal operating temperature) and each car will be sold with 12 months MOT irrespective of whether the car is remaining in the UK or is being sold for export.

At the time of collection / delivery we'll note the mileage and from this point we'll extend a 3 month / 1000 mile warranty (which ever should come sooner). Should anything untoward happen during this time, beyond normal wear-and-tear and given the age of the vehicle, then we kindly ask you to contact us first and we'll do our best to help. 

Its always worth remembering that classic cars are old, they have hundreds of components in them and these do fail from time to time. They key to ownership and contentment is to smile and deal the days that are a challenge and relish, love and cherish those miles on the open road when your beauty is behaving as she did when new, be it 20, 30, 40+ years ago.
